Whereas I don't believe there is one horoscope that is inherently bad, I do think there is a suspicious amount of Leo shade out there. Or maybe there isn’t and I'm just super sensitive and observant of the fire sign slander. Oh, look… another Leo taking things personally.
Anywho, that got me thinking…
Leos genuinely have admirable traits: confidence, enthusiasm, loyalty, and creativity. While I’d say my Leo-ism is a work in progress, my favorite Leo celebrities embody those traits flawlessly - Dua Lipa, Doechii, Madonna, Greta Gerwig, Maya Rudolph, and Charli XCX. If you call any of them women self-centered or attention seeking, you’re going to hell. Each of them expresses their own flare of Leo energy, proving it doesn't have to be overbearing but rather magnetic. It can be weird, stylish, bold, sexy, thought-provoking, and genre bending.
But, there is an insufferable way to be a Leo (Like, say, writing a Substack defending them), and dare I say, some of their critics are… right. Like every sign, we come with our weaknesses. I think Leos can sometimes misinterpret our sign’s qualities as an excuse to be self-centered, stubborn, or attention-seeking (ok i’m hurting my own feelings now).
I promise we are not revving our engines in public. That’s incel behavior and those people are horoscopeless.
If you’re a Leo, you don’t need to make your birthday party a five-part, one-person theatrical show. A true Leo doesn't beg for applause. A true Leo doesn't treat their confidence like a contest. Next time you’re thinking of re-posting every single Instagram story birthday shoutout, take a deep breath and ask yourself: what would Charli do?
The best Leo energy is about quiet confidence and never begging for attention. It’s about walking into every room and embodying your strengths without announcing it. It’s not about perfection - it’s about wholeness. Your presence alone is already magnetic. Your creativity is already inspirational. You don’t need to perform your power.
